The development of adaptive machine learning techniques, and their application to astronomy, was the theme of the HDR defense of Emille Ishida at LPC on 8 September 2023. The work presented included also discussions about the organization of interdisciplinary work and innovative initiatives within academia.

This was focused on 3 managed from LPC:

  • - The Cosmostatistics Initiative (interdisciplinarity),
  • - the SNAD collaboration (anomaly detection)
  • - and the Fink broker (big data streaming)
