The LPC

The Laboratoire de Physique Corpusculaire of Clermont-Ferrand (France) is a laboratory jointly supported by the French national research center (CNRS) and the local University (Université Blaise Pascal).

The main research subject of this laboratory is fundamental research in high energy physics (particle physics, hadronic physics, heavy ions physics and astroparticle physics), mainly experimental physics, but also with a team of theorists. In parallel, a few teams develop applied research in biology, medical imaging, computing grids and thermoluminescent datation. The research teams are supported by technical services (electronics and micro-electronics, mechanics, computing) and an administrative service.

Many members of LPC give lectures at the University and the laboratory welcomes every year many trainees and PhD students.
